Snakes on a Plane

OK, so there's a new movie about to hit theaters this August. SNAKES ON A PLANE. The title says it all. If you haven't figured out the plot by now, there's people, they're on a plane, and there's snakes on that plane. Beautiful.

And who else did New Line get to star in the movie but Samuel L. Jackson himself. They even got Kenan Thompson to come along for the ride (as you can see from the picture). This movie is already becoming a cult hit soley because of the title. And when New Line tried to change the title to Pacific Air Flight 121 there was an uproar. Samuel L. Jackson told an interviewer from Collider.com, "We're totally changing that back. That's the only reason I took the job: I read the title." Thank you Samuel L. Jackson for not compromising your integrity!

Whether I go to this movie or not (its still up in the air), the best part of all of this is that the phrase "snakes on a plane" has been added to our vocabulary. The phrase's inventor, blogger Josh Friedman, describes it as somewhere in between "Cest la vie" and "What are you gonna do?" So the next time your friend loses that job promotion or gets dumped by his girlfriend, sit down next to him, put your hand on his shoulder and say, "Snakes on a plane man, snakes on a plane..."

Keep it real,

Ben
