"Dad thinks you're gay"

OK, so a friend of mine recently told me that his father thinks he's gay. It all came about because his father and mother signed a petition to ban gay marriage and he, being unsure how he felt, decided not to sign.

After that his dad started talking differently around him. For example, when Will & Grace came on TV he started to make a joke then stopped himself short. Later my friend's sister came up and said "Dad thinks you're gay." My friend thought she was only joking until she told him their father had come and asked her about it.

My friend says that he hasn't done anything to increase his father's suspicions, but for his own amusement he hasn't made any effort to alleviate them either. I told him he should probably take a break from his clog dancing lessons until this whole thing blows over, just for his dad's sake.
